Pat Santana is a Hispanic-American director and writer, originally from Barcelona, with a passion for character-driven stories and game-changing narratives. After studying Art and Design, she spent over a decade in the advertising industry before a pivotal moment led her to New York to pursue her dream of directing. After relocating to Los Angeles in 2013, she directed commercials and content for high-profile clients, including Netflix, Disney, and Wendy’s. Recently, she made her television debut with an episode of Dynasty on The CW.
Pat narrative work has garnered recognition at prestigious Oscar-qualifying festivals like Cinequest, Hollyshorts, and LA Shorts Fest. In 2018, she participated in Werner Herzog’s filmmaking workshop in the Peruvian jungle, an experience that significantly shaped her artistic vision. Mal Aire, the feature script inspired by the workshop’s short film, was selected for the Torino Lab Next in 2021.
An alum of Ryan Murphy's Half Initiative, the Paramount Directors Initiative, and the DGA WSC Squad's Mentorship Program, Pat has shadowed on shows such as 911: Lonestar, FBI: Most Wanted, and Yellowjackets.
Pat is currently developing various television and film projects. She is represented in United States by WPA and 5X.
Pat Santana es una directora y guionista de ficción con una inclinación por los personajes complejos y las narrativas innovadoras. Comenzó su carrera como realizadora en Los Ángeles, donde vivió más de diez años, dirigiendo publicidad para marcas internacionales como Hallmark, Wendy’s y Disney.
Como guionista y directora de ficción, sus cortometrajes han sido seleccionados en festivales internacionales como Cinequest, HollyShorts y LA Shorts Fest. En 2018, tuvo el honor de participar en el taller Filming With Werner Herzog, en la selva de Perú, una experiencia que la transformó tanto a nivel personal como profesional.
Pat es exalumna del programa Half Initiative de Ryan Murphy (2020), donde acompañó al productor ejecutivo Brad Buecker en el episodio final de temporada de 911: Lone Star. Más recientemente, fue invitada a formar parte del programa Paramount Directors Initiative (2021–2023), donde realizó shadowing en series como FBI: Most Wanted y Yellowjackets. Posteriormente, dirigió su primer episodio de televisión para Dynasty (The CW).
Actualmente asentada en Madrid, Pat tiene varios proyectos de cine y televisión en diferentes etapas de desarrollo.
